Notes
a. Note:   Emigrated 4/17/1880 from Berg, Laxarby Parish, lvsborg ln, Sweden, page 240 of the household examination.
The family was living at Backa, Laxarby Parish, lvsborg ln, Sweden when August was born.
See notes under August's father Johannes for locations until his father died in 1862.
In the 1866-70 household examination he is first living with his mother at Hedan, page 97. Then he moved to Narsidan, page 163, Nov 8, 1866. Then he moved on Mar 23, 1867, to what looks like "Norrge." He is number 4 in the emigration list, but that list is not available so I can't confirm the location.
In the 1871-75 household examination he is listed at Berg, page 198. There is a heart and an x next to his name. He is listed with wife Maja Lisa Petersdotter, and son Petrus. There is a note that looks like it says "from Skanti Jacken i Norrge, 10/30/73." After Maja Lisa there is a note that looks like "Le ofvan 1/14/74." [ofvan = above]
I think it also says that they became engaged on June 12, 1873. Just above them on the same page is Maja Lisa's family. In fact she is listed there, then crossed out. See notes under her for her family names.
In the 1876-80 household examination they are listed at Berg but they are crossed out as leaving for Amerika on April 17, 1880. Maja Lisa's parents are listed with them. Her father and sister Martha are not crossed out, so they stayed. Her mother is crossed out because she died.
