Note: Was a member of the 1st basketball team at Canton High School in 1903-04. Both of his parents died when he was but 17 years old. Graduated from the University of Illinois in 1909. Managed the "Green Lantern Sandwich Shop" in Peoria, Illinois and "Maid-Rite Hamburgers" in Canton, Illinois. He also managed the Garden Movie Theater on the west side of Canton Square, where his wife Helen played the piano to accompany the silent movies shown there. They moved to Joliet, Illinois in the early 1940's where I believe he worked at the Joliet State Prison during the war years. Later he managed the "Princess" movie theater in downtown Joliet, and the Hilltop outdoor movie theater, just outside Joliet. He retired about 1950. He died of "Emphysema of the Lungs" at Silver Cross Hospital in Joliet, 01 July 1956, about a month before his 69th birthday. He is buried in the GORE/UFFORD plot at Oak Hill Cemetery in Lewistown, Illinois.
