The north-south line between sections 25 and 26, Township 2 North, Range 2 East of the 4th Principal Meridian was the eastern boundary of the 120 acres owned by George Tyson in the 1874 plat book of Lafayette Co., 240 acres owned by George Tyson in the 1895 plat book of Lafayette Co., and 160 acres owned by William Tyson in the 1916 plat book of Lafayette Co. T 2 N. R 2 E. of 4th pr. Mer. North - Between Sections 25 & 26 40.00 chns. - Set post and raised a mound of earth for 1/4 Section corner. 80.00 - Set post and raised a mound for corner to sections 23 - 24, 25 and 26. Land rolling and 1st rate prairie. The remains were interred in the Evergreen cemetery, Wednesday, December 28th and were followed to their last resting place by a large concourse of sympathizing relatives and friends. Deceased was born in Cumberland county, Eng, July 7, 1829, and moved to this country a few years after, where he was married to Mrs Mary Lawson at Mineral Point in 1859. He later removed to Seymour, where he became a member of the P M church at Wardsville in the year of 1871, and has been a staunch church member of offices of public trust, and was highly esteemed as a man of unfalling honesty and integrity. In Shullsburg his familiar form will be missed on our streets, as he always had a cheerful word for all with whom he came in contact. He leaves five children, who have the unfailing of the community.
