Note: OLENA ANDERSON AMBLE Olena Anderson was born in Stange, Hedemarken, Norway, on December 22, 1874. She came with her parents to America in May, l885, and settled in Iowa County, near Dodgeville, Wis. She was confirmed by Rev. Ole Ness in the year 1889, and on December 2, 1893, she was united in marriage to Sever 0. Amble, of the town of Vermont, Dane County, Wis., the same pastor performing the ceremony. They moved to the town of Vermont where they have lived ever since. To this union six children were born, two having preceded her in death. After an illness in bed for two weeks she was taken to St. Mary's Hospital at Madison on December 2, l936, which was her 43rd wedding anniversary. She passed away there, after an operation, on Sunday morning, January 10, 1937, at the age of 62 years and 18 days. She is survived by her husband and four children, Ole, at home; Anna (Mrs. Millerd Felland) at Stoughton; Carl, at Black Earth; and Martha (Mrs. Clarence Gjertson) at home. She is also survived by two grandchildren, one sister, Mrs. Josiah Thomas of Dodgeville, and four brothers, Ole Anderson, Nekoosa: Andrew, Janesville, Charles and John of Dodgeville. Mrs. Amble's eyesight failed her at an early age, dating back to 1885. She also has been in poor health for many years. In spite of this, uncomplainingly and willingly she managed her home and cared well for her children and family. Mr. Amble's eyesight has failed the last two years-being worse than she in this respect at the time of her death. Funeral services were held on Tuesday, January 12, 1937, from the Schanel home and Vermont Lutheran Church. Revs. S. and Hector Gunderson officiating. Many people were present in spite of the ice covered highways.
