Note: John E. Anderson DODGEVILLE-John E. Anderson, 81, died Sunday (Jan. 16, l966) in a Dodgeville hospital after a brief illness. Mr. Anderson, who was born in, Norway, farmed in the Dodgeville area until his retirement in 1954. A Madison survivor is a daughter, Mrs. Adrian Hanson, 319 N. Ingersoll St. Also surviving are his wife, the former Helene McBride; two daughters, Mrs. Orville Gilbertson, Avoca; and Mrs. Vernon Luther, Neponset, Ill.; three sons, Chester, Oconomowoc; and Roscoe and Robert, both of Dodgeville; 25 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday in the Lulloff funeral home, Dodgeville. Friends may call after 3 p.m. today. JOHN E. ANDERSON John E. Mr. Anderson was born in Vang, Norway, on April 28, 1884, the llth child of Anders and Martha (Sinderud) Anderson. He was married to Melissa Belle Smith of the Standart community near Dodgeville, Wis., on March 30, 1908. She preceded him in death in March of 1954. They were the parents of four sons and three daughters. A son, Kenneth John, was killed in Okinawa in June of 1945. Mr. Anderson is survived by three daughters: Lola, Mrs. Orville Gilberton [Gilbertson], of Avoca; Inez, Mrs. Adrian Hanson of Madison; Etoyle, Mrs. Vernon Luther, Neponset, Ill.; three sons: Chester of Oconomowoc: Roscoe and Robert of Dodgeville. Also surviving are 25 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Mr. Anderson came from Hedemarken, Norway, in 1885. Most of his life was spent in farming in the Dodgeville area. During the fall of 1956 he moved to Florida. In April of 1957 he married Helena McBride of St. Petersburg, Fla., who also survives. Mr. Anderson was a member of the former North Dodgeville Lutheran Church. Funeral services were held on Wednesday, Jan. 19, 1966, at 1:00 p.m. at the Lulloff Funeral Home with Pastor Duane V. Nelson officiating. Burial was in the family p1ot in the East Side Cemetery at Dodgeville. Residence in 1963 was St. Petersburg, Florida.
