Johnson, 75, Darlington, died Thursday, November 1, 1984, at the Memorial Hospital of Lafayette County, Darlington. He was born March 20, 1909, in Fayette Township, the son of John and Adell Matley Johnson. He married Lillian M. Otremba, June 28, 1951, at the Little Brown Church, Nassua, IA. They farmed in the Darlington area until moving to Darlington when they retired in 1969. He was a member of Wardsville Primitive Methodist Church. Surviving are his wife, Lillian, at home; one son, Robert, Monroe; one step-son, Wayne Larson, Rockford, IL.; one step-daughter, Dianne Williams, McFarland; five brothers, Dwight, Clarence, and Chester, all of Darlington; George, Lancaster; and James, Calamine; three sisters, Mrs. Edward (Loretta) Weber, Cuba City; Mrs. Fremont (Marie) Bennett, and Mrs. Fritz (Helen) Tuescher, both of Darlington; eight grandchildren, and one great-grandchild. Funeral services were held Saturday, November 3, at 1:30 p.m. at the Darlington United Methodist Church. Pastor Robert H. Gill officiated. Burial was in Union Grove Cemetery. The Erickson Funeral Home, Darlington, was in charge.
