Note: Obituary Charles O. Johnson Republican Journal August 28, 1980 Page 16 Charles O. Johnson, lifelong area resident, dies Charles O. Johnson, 73, Darlington, lifelong area resident, died Monday at Memorial Hospital in Darlington, after a short illness. Funeral services will be held today (Thursday) at 2 p.m. from Darlington United Methodist Church, Rev. Charles Parry officiating, with burial in Union Grove Cemetery. Visitation began at 3 p.m., Wednesday at Erickson-Sharer funeral home. He was born in Willow Springs township January 4, 1907, the son of John and Adell Mattley Johnson. He married Margaret E. Crowley on Dec. 30, 1929 in Darlington. He worked for Darlington Furniture Store for many years and later as a maintenance man for Lafayette Manor. He was a long-time member of the Darlington Fire Department. Surviving are his wife; 2 daughters, Mrs. Fritz (Mary Louise) Teutschmann, Darlington, and Mrs. Francis (Patricia) Tuescher, Shullsburg; 6 brothers, Dwight, Clarence, Norman and Chester, all of Darlington; George, Lancaster; James, Calamine; 3 sisters, Mrs. Edward (Loretta) Weber, Cuba City, Mrs. Fremont (Marie) Bennett, and Mrs. Fritz (Helen) Tuescher, both of Darlington; 12 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren.
