Note: Obituary Florence L. Johnson Republican Journal January 18, 1996 Page 8 Florence L. Johnson, 92, Darlington, died Monday, Jan. 15, 1996 at Lafayette County Manor. The former Florence Lucille O'Brien was born Dec. 24, 1903, in Kendall Township, the daughter of Michael and Ellen (McDermott) O'Brien. She married Clarence McKinley Johnson Nov. 30, 1926 in Galena, Ill. He died Oct. 1, 1987 after 60 years of marriage. She was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Darlington; of its Council of Catholic Women and the Darlington American Legion Auxiliary. She will be remembered as being proud of her 100 percent Irish roots and her sense of humor. Florence is survived by four sons: Ronald Johnson, Darlington; John Johnson, Madison; LeRoy (Jannette) Johnson, Union Grove; Gaylord (Janet) Johnson, Burlington; two daughters, Joyce (James) DeMuth, Sperry, Okla.; Mildred "Mickey" (Eugene) Thompson, Darlington; 26 grandchildren, 51 great-grandchildren; a great-grandson; a brother, Cecil (Dorothy) O'Brien, Racine. Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m., Thursday, Jan. 18, 1996 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Darlington, with Father Tom Coyle officiating. Burial will be in Union Grove Cemetery, Darlington. Visitation will be held from 3-8 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 17, 1996 at Steil Camacho Funeral Home, Darlington, where a rosary service will be at 8 p.m. Musicians are: Sara Lange, Ed Fitzsimons, Diego Camacho, Jr. Pallbearers are: Lori Leahy, Vern Johnson, Greg Johnson, Donn Johnson, Rory Johnson, and Vonn Goolsby.
