a. Note:   tery. The reported birthdate of the tombstone transcription is ten years too early. All the other Shavers are spelled "Shaver" in the cemetery record. I think these names are all spelled "Shaver" on the actual tombstones. Alternate dates per Lorraina Glover are: b. 22 Apr 1860, m. 4 Feb 1881. The birthdate agrees with the 1880 and 1900 census, but Lorenzo's first wife Eliza Weld gave birth to daughter Atla 1 Jul 1881 and didn't die until 1883, so Glover's 4 Feb 1881 marriage date is incorrect. It should probably be 4 Feb 1886 which would agree with 1900 census data.
  Note: The spelling, "Hurzeler", was obtained from Viola Shaver's notes. Shown in the 1880 census of Wayland, NY is a "Hursler" family from Switzerland who was the NEXT family to be enumerated in the 1880 census after Lorenzo Shaver. The parents of Lorenzo's wife Louisa were both born in Switzerland (1900 census) and John & Elizabeth Hursler were both born in Switzerland (1880 census). There was no Louisa living home in 1880. There was, however, a Louisa "Hurzler", (age 20 <1860>, b. NY, Father b. Switzerland & Mother b. Prussia), living as a "Domestic Servant" with the family of John J. Cornell, a farmer, in Mendon, Monroe, NY. [Mendon is located near Honeoye Falls, about 35 miles north of Wayland]. This family consisted of John Cornell, his wife, sister-in-law, two nieces, a nephew, and Louisa Hurzler. Interestingly, the sister-in-law Esther, nieces Louisa & Haleyon & nephew Bertie all had the surname "Lawrence". I feel reasonably certain this Louisa Hurzler was the first child of John & Elizabeth Hursler. She has the correct birthdate, and she is the only Elizabeth Hursler/Hurzeler/Hurzler appearing in the 1880 census for all of NY State.
Note:   Louisa Shaver's East Wayland Cemetery transcription on the Steuben County website says "Louisa Schaver 1850 - 1921" [age 71]. Note: Lorenzo, Margaret and Louisa "Schaver" are listed together on the web page, and are in the same section in the ceme
