Note: Not sure if this is the Helen Shaver who married Milton Babcock. His Obituary follows: Milton J. Babcock Born circa 1906 Died November 15, 1985 Milton J. Babcock, 79, of 10989 County Road, Wayland, died Friday (Nov. 15, 1985) in St. James Hospital, Hornell, following a brief illness. A native of Hughsville, Pa., he had resided in the Wayland area most of his life. He retired from the IBEW local 1249 at Syracuse and was a former employee of the Huget Silk Mill in Wayland. Mr. Babcock was a member of St. Peter�s United Church of Christ in Perkinsville and a member of the Board of Directors of East Wayland Cemetery where he was a caretaker. An avid sportsman, he was a life member of the Springwater Rod and Gun Club. Surviving are his wife of 55 years, Helen Shaver Babcock; two sons, Glen of Sodus Point and Gary of Dansville; six grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren; a brother, George of Mountoursville, Pa.; nieces and nephews. A service was conducted in the Walter E. Baird and Sons Funeral Home at Wayland Monday morning with the Rev. Lanny Keuster officiating. Burial was in East Wayland Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Peter�s Church of Christ, the Wayland Fire Department Memorial Fund or the Wayland Ambulance Fund.
