a. Note:   r their marriage. W. A. Lawrence commented (November 30, 1902), "Atla & M. [Marguerite] Started for Tenn. over D.L.&W. on Nickel Plate. It seems sad to think of her going back to live with her husband but I can't help being glad that they aren't going to live with us any longer." She wrote a letter in October 1906 that she was dying. She had surgery in Canton, PA. which apparently was successful because she was mentioned in Will Lawrence's journal as late as 26 May 1923.
Note:   The correct spelling for Atla (not Alta) Shaver is attested to by W. A. Lawrence's journal, by Eva Lawrence and by Josephine Lawrence, who refer to her as "aunt Atla." Atla & husband apparently lived with W. A. Lawrence for a time, shortly afte
