Note: d with the tree farm. Bill and Katherine live at 6840 Liberty Poll Rd., Webster Crossing, NY 14584. On 19 Dec 2000 Bill had triple by-pass surgery at Strong Memorial Hospital, Rochester, NY. On 15 Dec 2003 he had right knee replacement surgery at the same hospital. Obituary: William Eugene Humphrey, 79, of Springwater, passed away peacefully Thursday (Oct. 15, 2009) at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester. William was the eldest son of Theodore Roberts and Eva Marie (Lawrence) Humphrey. He was a lifelong resident of the Town of Springwater. He grew up on the Humphrey family dairy farm on Carney Hollow Road. He moved to Liberty Pole Road and established the All Western Evergreen Nursery and Christmas Tree Farm in 1968. This business became a source of learning, friendship and travel opportunities over the years. William also worked full-time for the Farmers Home Administration (now Farm Service Agency) for 27 years, many in a supervisor capacity, in Livingston, Allegany and Steuben counties. He married Katherine Taylor of El Paso, Texas in 1966. He is survived by his wife, Katherine; a daughter and son-in-law, Jerrianne and Stephen Scheiderich; two grandchildren, Theodore and Isabel Scheiderich; two brothers, Roger and Herbert (Joyce) Humphrey, both of Springwater; two sisters, Carol (Jim) Anderson and Jane Humphrey, both of Victor; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. The family wishes to give many thanks to all for the prayers and support for many years. There will be no prior calling hours. A celebration of life service will take place at 4 p.m. Saturday at the Webster Crossing United Methodist Church, 7250 State Route 15, Webster Crossing, NY. Please join the family for dinner following the service. Come and bring at least one memory of Bill to share.
