Note:   All of the following information courtesy of Lorraine Jewell Shaver: "Donna Shaver Manzer remembers Grandma Cora putting jelly on her hamburg and Corky doing the same thing, just to make Grandma happy, Donna says. She remembers the passel of kids fighting over a jump rope when Grandma Cora told them to bring it to her. She snipped the rope into pieces - Donna has no idea where she had those scissors hide - and handed them each a length of rope, telling them they could all have a piece now and they wouldn't have to share."

  "Mrs. Cora Lottie Shaver Dies at Age 94 Sat.
  "Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon, March 31, for Mr. [sic.] Cora Lottie Shaver, 94, who died March 28 at the Horton Nursing Home in Newark Valley.
  "Mrs. Shaver, who was born in Springwater, NY April 24, 1869, was a lifetime resident of New York State, living 53 years in Newark Valley. She was the widow of George B. Shaver who died in 1954. She was a member of the First Congregational Church of Newark Valley.
  "Survivors include her son, Leon Shaver of Binghamton; grandsons Kenneth of Vestal, Donald of Unadilla, and Raymond of Newark Valley; 12 great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren.
  "The funeral was held at the MacPherson Funeral Home with the Rev. Everett Gould and the Rev. D. Glyn Lewis officiating. Burial was in Hope Cemetery."
