Note: 1880 MARY L. OVITT , TANNER LIVING IN PLATTE , DAWSON, NEBRASKA WITH 4 OF THE YOUNGER CHILDREN. WILLIAM NORTON LISTED AS UNCLE ALSO LIVES IN THE HOUSE, BORN IN NEW YORK. A WILLIAM MANSON BORN IN ILLINOIS, ALSO LIVES IN THE HOUSE. NEXT DOOR IS A LEWIS NORTON AGE 26, BORN IN NEW YORK. POSSIBLY, WILLIAM'S SON. In 1900 William Norton lives with his nephew Lewis Norton in Fairview Pct, Dawson Co., NE also in the house is Lewis wife, and their children. Not sure where he or William Norton fit into the Tanner family. They might be family to Mary Ovitt Tanner mother. Mary L. Tanner death certificate lists her as being born Dec 5, 1815 in Warrensburg, New York. She was 96 yrs old. Father is listed as Ovit born in New York.
