 04 April 1828: Charlotte and Miles had 9 surviving children when Milesdied 04 April, 1828. The children were: Elizabeth, Sophia, Jasper,Clarissa, Jerusha, Nancy, Amanda, Rachel and Ira. These children areapparently in the approximate but not the exact order of their birth.

  Rachel and Elizabeth were sisters.
  March 20, 1855: Abraham Sams reapplied for Bounty land under the actof March 3, 1855. Application #162.431. He gave his age as 72 andmade the application in Perry County, OH. Abraham signed theapplication in the presence of Lawrence Culp and Elizabeth Swope, bothof Perry County. Samuel Seals of Perry County testified under oaththat he had served with Abraham. Samuel is on the Perry County, Ohiocensus of 1850, age 55. Elizabeth Swope was the eldest daughter ofCharlotte and the stepdaughter of Abraham. Lawrence Culp was marriedto Rachel, another stepdaughter. Elizabeth and Rachel were recorded in1850 in adjoining families of Greenfield Twp., Fairfield County, Ohio.
