 By way of background, Jacob Van Arnam (who married Anne Van Vranken)was a Loyalist who joined a British Colonial regiment at the Battle of Bennington. Surviving that fiasco he also seems to have survived the Battle of Saratoga and died at a rear area in Sorel, Quebec, in 1779. Ryckert/Richard had joined the rebellion in 1775 and his next oldest brother, Abraham, was only 14 in 1776 so it's my belief the family lost Jacob's farm at Brunswick, NY, and dispersed themselves among family in the area, perhaps including Isaac (1704) and his children. Except for Jacob's son Abraham who settled first in Pittstown and then Northville, NY, the record on the family (my line) is scanty, vague and confused. They're the Van Arnams who show up around Kingston and Brockville, Ontario, after 1800 (free land, again.)

 I am willing to sponsor a Y-DNA37 test for a male descendant of one ofthe Ontario lines of the Loyalist Jacob Van Arnam who died at Sorel(Quebec) in 1779....
 This could be from Richard's branch:
 Gideon [Catherine Jones]; William G. [Marcia Phillips]; Lyman [MaryFalkenberg]
  or John's branch: (guessing)
 Garrett [Elizabeth Carlton]; John [Susanna Salisbury, Emily O'Hara];
  or Jacob's branch:
 John [Chloe __?__]; Richard H. [Elizabeth Roberts]; Van Rensellear[Elizabeth Kearns]; David [Eunice Crittenden, Alice Fairburn]; George[Elizabeth Harrison]; James Madison [Eliza Smith]; Damon [Elizabeth__?__]
  If there are no takers for any of the above families, I will also consider a male descendant from either Jacob [Rachel Dafoe], Isaac[Mercy "Nancy" Reilly] or Joseph [Elizabeth Wybern]. (This should cover most of the early Ontario, Canada Van Norman families.)
