Undertaker Harry Fredendall had charge of the funeral arrangements. "Jake," as he was known by everyone, loved the companionship of his friends. He had a wide acquaintanceship gained from his chosen occupation as a salesman. He was happiest when at home surrounded by friends. His activities in Masonry, up to the time of his forced retirement, gave him the added enjoyment of being with people. He was twice chosen as master of Noah Lodge, No. 754, F. & A. M., of Altamont, was a member of Temple Commandery No. 2, of Cyprus Shrine, and of Helderberg Chapter, O. E. S. He was a director of the Albany County Agricultural society, and also was proud company. He was also a trustee of the Altamont Public library, and rendered valuable service. No better expression of his character can be made than the quotation of Laratin which hung over his desk: " The most I can do for my friend is simply to be his friend. I have no wealth to bestow upon him. If he knows that I am happy in loving him he will want no other reward." Obituary Source newspaper clipping from Hon. & Mrs. Franklin M.
