It’s possible she is the dau or grandau of John Bell but she is not living with him in 1850. Mary Wentworth is dau of Elisha Brown of Rhode Island. Enlisted as a private in Co. B., 77tb New York; no farther record. Saratoga Springs NY Saratogian 1874 - 0014.pdf Jacob Van Arnum, of Saratoga Springs, considers himself the most grievously wronged by a paragraph furnished us by a correspondent, in which he is characterized by terms which be pronounced false and injurious. He challenges the proof that he has ever kept, or that he doss now keep, any disreputable place at Baratoga Springs or elsewhere.—BaUeUm Journal Saratoga Springs NY Saratogian 1878 - 0126.pdf B i l l T A L A S S A U L T. Monday (afternoon James Munroe, a tinsmith in the employ of Gates & Son, while in an inebriated condition walked up Van Dam street and sat down on the stoop in front of Jacob Van Arnum's dwelling. He had remained there but a short; time before be was ordered away by Van 'Arnum. Munroe not moving as rapidly as possible, Van Arnum made a most brutal assault on him. After knocking him down a number of times, Vau Arnum kicked the inebriated man 'several times, inflicting, it is feared, internal injuries that may prove fatal. Munroe's appearance; after the assault, was sickening. Deputy Sheriff W. H. Brown subsequently appeared on the scene and had the injured man removed to the residence of John Scott on the same street, and medical aid called. He was placed on a bed in the evening and removed to his home at the Schuyler place at Saratoga Lake, accompanied by a physician, who said that Munroe was in a very critical condition. Van Arnum, who, after the assault, preferred the charge of intoxication against Munroe, was placed under arrest by Deputy Sheriff Brown and locked up to await the result of the man's injuries. Saratoga Springs NY Saratogian 1874 - 0005.pdf —On Monday, Officer Ford arrested Jacob Van Ornum at Saratoga Springs, for refusing to support his family, who reside in this village, and for being a disorderly person. The affair was settled by the parties mutually consenting to hereafter live separately. Van Ornum is a low, vicious character, and has long been a disgrace to his family, who are quiet, respectable people. He has been keeping a low den at Saratoga for some time past and we trust the people of that village will soon make it too hot for him.—BalteUm __________________ ?? 1875 Saratoga Springs ED 01, Saratoga, NY img 4 fam 48 Frame house value $1500 J.H.
