  Rachel first married Lawrence Culp prob in Richland County before1835. They moved to Fairfield County. Lawrence died after 1850 censusthere and Rachel's sister Jerusha died in 1853. So Rachel marriedJoshua West and moved to Steuben County, IN, with 3 of her childrenand so became step-mother/aunt to Joshua and Jerusha's children. Sheand Joshua had one child: George C. West. Then Joshua died in Iowa in1862. Why was he there? Were they planning to homestead there?
