Note:   e Edward Co., VA Campbell County, VA 1810 census: as head of family, over 45, wife 26-45, 4 young males, 2 young females, From deeds, his neighbors were James Holt, Robert Holt, Joseph Holt, Ligon Holt, Haney, Bailey, McCraw, Gavell, Palmer, and Scott. In 1810 census he ws listed near Daniel and Agnes driskill, Philip Mason, his mother Ann Holt. He lived next to the Driskills with 285 acres on the Big Falling River. On November 7, 1812, George sold 75 acres that was adjacent to James Holt and Robert Holt. The deed was witnessed by Daniel and Agnes Driskill. On August 9, 1813, George and Mary Holt sold another 73 acres in Campbell County, Virginia to Thomas Palmer. Prior to Oct. 25, 1816, George moved to Cocke County, TN. On that date a George Holt and wife, Mary Holt of Cocke County, TN conveyed their remaining 90 acres in Campbell County, VA to Thomas Palmer. He moved to Cooper County, Missouri and was listed there in 1840 census as George Sr. and was listed as being between 70 and 80 years old. Heads of households nearby were Thomas T. Driskill, G. R. Holt, Littleberry Holt, John Hampton, and Levi Holt. According to Paul E. Daugherty, George Sr. was living with a slave, Charlotte. In March 1840 term of Cooper Co. MO Court, George freed Charlotte, age 26, with her infant son Sabine, aged six months. The Deed of Emancipation was witnessed by Levi Holt adn John Hampton. After the Cooper County census, George went across the county line to Cole County to live with his son George Jr. He was listed in the 1840 census
