Those family records that do remain today only contain brief notations such as, "died young!" Given the dates we do have, apparently Ethel was only with us about three months. In 1894 medical care in Center Cross, VA left a lot to be desired. The family has no medical diagnosis about her condition. No autopsy was performed providing those remaiming records which could give us clues about what took Ethel from us after three months.
