a. Note:   Jane Alice Cridlin who married Albert Sthreshley Taylor in August 1849 is my great grandmother. She was the daughter of William White Cridlin and Alice Peed of Westmoreland County, VA.
  Jane Alice Cridlin Taylor survived her husband, Albert Taylor and on 1904 the Essex County Deed Book #62, Page 85, reveals that she along with Charles Albert Taylor and his wife Georgia, Rosa L. Taylor, my grandmother and her husband, James W. Brooks, Sarah A. Taylor, wife of C.H. Wheeley, Ella J. Taylor, wife of Allie Roane Carneal sold the land detailed below to Allie R . Carneal and Ella J. Taylor:
 Land bounded by: Cornelius Dyke on the North, the public road from Paynefield to Longest Store on the east, and John Dyke on the south and west.
 It is on this property that the grave marker for 11 members of the Taylor, Gary, Cridlin and Carneal families was located and remains today. The family home, which has since been razed in on property currently owned by Ms. Mae Andrews. The Paynefield Plantation still stands and fronts on Mt. Landing Road.
