a. Note:   Beriah & James were twin brothers. James remained in Mercer Co. PA. and founded that Magoffin branch. Beriah made his way to Harrodsburg, KY. in 1825, although he had actually come to this country from County Down, Ireland 35-40 years earlier. He built a home in Harrodsburg named "Clay Hill". It was a large brick home with four columns in front, built on a hill not far from Fort Harrod. Both he and his wife are buried in Spring Hill cemetary, under a slab tombstone close to the monument of his son Beriah11. Several other sons are also buried there.
