Note: She kept a diary which chronicled her trip "Down the Santa Fe Trail and into Mexico." She was the first woman to make that trip by wagon and she is very well known in Santa Fe. Stop by the Historical Museum and tell them she was an ancestor of yours, and they will treat you like royalty. Sam Magoffin, her husband, was a trader and they made this trip in 1846-1847.
