Note: Anna, Lilly, Esther, and Walter never married. Anna and Lilly were teachers. Esther and Walter stayed home. Walter ran the farm, which Vernon now ownes, and Esther cared for her mother, who lived to be over 100. When Anna and Lilly retired, they moved home as well. Clara Rybery used to tell the story of the Indian uprising, and how she hid under a hay stack when the family thought they were coming, and how the renegades were eventually caught and hanged in Mankato. Most of the Rybergs and buried in the cemetary just east of Cannon Falls, Mn., on the far east side of the cemetary.
