Rue Howard Mattingly, 98, of 328 North Patterson Street, Apartment 14 in Clarkson died on Monday, December 14, 1998 at the University Hospital. She was born on March 28, 1909 in Breckenridge County, Kentucky as the daughter of Irvin Howard and Lizzie Howard. She was a housewife and a member of the Mt. Hebron Presbyterian Church. Her parents, and her husband, Noma Willard Mattingly, preceded her in death. She is survived by four sons, Howard and Leon Mattingly, both of Clarkson, J. C. Mattingly of Big Clifty, and Edgar Mattingly of Louisville; one brother, Delbert Howard of Madrid; twenty-nine grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Funeral services were held on Wednesday, December 16, 1998 at the Rogers Funeral Home in Clarkson with Bro. Abb Stanton officiating. Burial was in the Mt. Vernon Cemetery.
