a. Note:   World War 1 Kenneth Jones volunteered for service for World War 1 under the Derby Scheme. (The Derby Scheme promised volunteers a war pension to entice men into volunteering for WW1. Men who attested under the Derby scheme were sent back to their homes and jobs until they were called up. They wore a grey arm band with a red crown as a sign that they had so volunteered.)
  Kenneth signed up for the 3rd Bn The Queens Reginment on the 17th November 1915 at Sutton, Surrey. He was 19 years & 8 months old.
  On the 15th May 1916 Kenneth was called up for duty and was posted at the 3 8th Base Depot. (Base Depot is where goods arrive in bulk and then brocken down into wagon loads and sent by rail to regulating stations and then on to the fighting troops. General base depots were the centre for collecting, sorting and despatching reinforcements.
  On the 15th September 1916 Kenneth was transferred into the 11 Bn of the Queens Regt. and sent to France to fight in the battle of Somme. On the 29th September 1916 Kenneth was shot in the leg, head and hand and was sent to the General Hospital of Dannes-Camiers near the town of Boulogne-sur-mer, Northern France.
  On the 10th October 1916 Kenneth was transfered back to England to the Metropolitan Hospital Kingsland Rd.

c. Note:   Kenneth William Jones (Bachelor) married Elsie Acock (Spinster) at the Parish church of Sutton, Surrey England on the 8th April 1922. Kenneth residence is stated as 4 Clinton Terrace, Manor Lane, Sutton and Elsie was 6 William Villas, Collingwood Rd, Sutton.
 Kenneths father is stated as Charles John Jones ( Book binder) and Elsie's father is Joseph Acock ( Gardener).
