Note: "Wilson N. Osborn, a former member of the Home News staff and affectionately known as "Pop" Osborn, quietly celebrated his eightieth birthday anniversary at his home, 222 Seaman St., yesterday. He received numerous gifts and cards. Mr. Osborn has been confined to his home by illness for the past few weeks, but is improving daily. Born at Naugatuck, Conn in 1843, Mr. Osborn enlisted in the Union army when a lad of only nineteen. He came to New Brunswick in 1892 to take a position with the Armour Beef Company and in 1900 became collector for the Home News, serving as such for several years. He is an active member of the First Reformed Church and has a host of friends. Mr. Osborn's home circle consists of his wife and two daughters, Miss Mae N. Osborn being connected with the principal's office at the senior high school and Miss Charlotte Osborn with the Middlesex Title Guarantee and Trust Co. Another daughter, Miriam, is the wife of ex-Senator George S. Hobart of Newark, and a fourth, Ina, is the wife of Edward C. Peck of the New Britain, Conn. A son, Harold B.
