She was the wife of Arthur V. Aykroyd, who died in 1985. Born in Bethlehem, she was a daughter of the late Pierce and Ellen Jane (Kichline) Meckes. She was co-owner of Aykroyd Hardware, 1954- 86 and previously worked for Bethlehem Silk Mill. She was a member of College Hill Moravian Church where she was a sacristan, taught Sunday school, was a star candle maker, past president of the Sertoma Ladies Auxiliary Womens Fellowship Group and a 60-year member of the Kings Daughters. Survivors: Daughter, Ruth D. Mickolay of Hellertown; son, Gilbert H. of Mesa, Ariz.; nine grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by a son, Pierce V. in 1992, a granddaughter, a great-granddaughter and 12 brothers and sisters. Services: 10:30 a.m. Saturday in the church, 72 W. Laurel St., Bethlehem.
