Dewey A. Meckes Dewey A. Meckes, 76, of Neola, died Tuesday, Nov. 4, in HCR Manor Care, Bethlehem. He was the husband of Anna Jane (Ace) Meckes. They had observed their 53rd wedding anniversary in May. Born in Long Pond, he was the son of the late Harry and Ada (Keiper) Meckes. He had been a self-employed builder for 50 years, retiring in 1999. He and his wife had also owned and operated Ace's Trailer Park in Snydersville and Bertie's Green Acres in Neola for over 40 years. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War. He was also of the Lutheran faith. In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Dewene Weiss and her husband, Francis, of Neola; two sons, James Meckes and his wife, Tracy, of Neola and Gary Meckes of Neola; a brother, Claude Meckes of Long Pond; a sister, Gymane Bush of Carbondale; six grandchildren; and one great-grandson. He was preceded in death by six brothers and seven sisters. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 8, from the Kresge Funeral Home, Route 209, Brodheadsville, with the Rev. William Sibley officiating. Interment will be in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery at the convenience of the family. A viewing will be held from 1 p.m. until the time of service on Saturday.
