  In Sept 1816 a treaty was signed between the Cherokee and the U.S. govenment. Andrew Jackson was one of the three U.S. commissioners. He offered bribes to Cherokees Pathkiller, Glass, Boat, Sour Mash, Chulioa, Dick Justice, Richard Brown and Chickasautchee to obtain their signatures on a treaty to give up the claim to the land in question according to Robert J. Conley in his book The Cherokee Nation A History.
