OBITUARIES:
Loyd Kelley
(LANETT) Loyd Kelley, 86, of Lanett died Sunday morning, Feb. 12, 2006, at
Beverly Health Care.
Mr. Kelley was born in LaGrange, Ga., Jan. 11, 1920, son of the late Minnie
and Monroe Kelley. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II and was retired as
a heavy equipment operator for Chambers County. He was a member of Lanier
Baptist Church.
Surviving are his wife, Sarah Nixon Kelley; five daughters, Brenda O'Neal and
Shirley Nixon of Bowdon, Ga., Barbara Spinner of Houston, Texas, Linda Robinson
of Resaca, Ga., and Elaine Maddox of LaGrange, Ga.; two sons, Jackie Ray Kelley
of Roanoke and Maxwell Kelley of Vacaville, Calif.; and several grandchildren,
great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Services were at Johnson Brown-Service Funeral Home Chapel in Valley on
Tuesday, Feb. 14, with burial in Restlawn Cemetery in LaGrange. The Rev. Mike
Hawkins officiated.
