Elizabeth Ann Johnson Murray
Elizabeth Ann Johnson Murray, 77, passed away suddenly and way too soon on October 25, 2010 with her family at her side at Little Company of Mary Hospital. Liz was born on February 8, 1933 to Alfred and Isabel Johnson in Oklahoma City, OK. In 1944, the family moved to Hawthorne where her parents had purchased a small grocery store. Liz graduated from Leuzinger High School and attended El Camino College where she met and married Fred Murray. They had two children together. Liz began a long and successful career at Northrop Aircraft Corporation in 1957 until retiring in 1994. She loved the beach, her home, gardening, dancing, antiques, cats and helping Miss Maureen and her kindergarten students at Juan De Anza Elementary School. Liz leaves behind her son, Mark (Terri) Murray, Medford, OR; her daughter, Taryn Murray, Waialua, HI; two grandchildren; brother, Alfred (Donna) Johnson, Fullerton; sister, Mary C. Doak, Sacramento; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Friends are invited to celebrate her life and share memories on Sunday, January 23, 2011 from 2-5 p.m. Call (310) 643-5787 for information. It was almost exactly as it was the day we scattered Aunt Nancy's ashes. Mom, Dad, Aunt Mary, Taryn, Mark, Noelle, Elizabeth, Robert, and Liz's friend, Joe, met on Sunday, January 23, 2011. Per her wishes, her ashes were scattered in the Pacific Ocean off Redondo Beach Pier, California. It was a beautiful and clear day.
