Note: Subj: Re: Eli Freeman & Hepsebah Gore Date: 11/2/2001 9:12:23 PM Pacific Standard Time From: WwLSARANDOLPH To: VCJFreeman Hi Well, I am guessing about Hepsebah Gore -- Ennis Gore is living next door to them and one of Eli & Hepsy's kids is Ennis so it seems like a good guess, with a name like that. That is the only family that used that name. Thanks Linda * Subj: Re: Hepsebah (Gore?) Freeman Date: 11/14/2001 7:06:08 PM Pacific Standard Time From: WwLSARANDOLPH To: VCJFreeman Hi -- I have a Gore genealogy done by the family of Frances Gore and George Heard. Frances was Hepsebah's sister. also this: This file is copyrighted and contributed by: William Fischer, Jr. <wefjr7944@@hotmail.com> ============================================= December 2001 "Over the River" at Ofelia ---------------------------- Ofelia, Ala., Aug. 3rd, 1897. Old Grandmother FREEMAN was buried here this evening. She was a very old lady and died from heart trouble. [From The Randolph Toiler (Wedowee, Randolph County, Alabama), 6 Aug 1897, p. 3] ------- Buried in an unmarked grave in Mt. Prospect Baptist Church cemetery, Ofelia, Randolph Co., Alabama. ================================================= Dallas and and Ennis Freeman were the only Freemans living in Fox Creek in 1900, so this must be their mother. Ophelia/Mt. Prospect is a BIG Cemetery; it is in the Fox Creek area. I think that she was buried at Old Pleasant Grove - but that we may never know! There were some Freemans living at Cragford but that is about 10 miles away and they would not been that age. Thanks, Linda * Per Old Pleasant Grove Cemetery transcription by Linda Ayers (WwLSARANDOLPH@@aol.com) Hepsebah Gore born 1819, died 8/6/1897 in the Ophelia/Fox Creek area of Randolph Co., Al; daughter of Notley Gore & Sally Patton.
