a. Note:   Mrs. Jimmie Nell Meadors sent me copies of the pension file for Cynthia (Morgan) Eberhart Ford, John's widow. In a general affidavit in the file, dated 25 March 1882, it she states:
  "Cynthia Ford says that she was married to John Eberhart; about fifty years ago he went off to hunt a new home and never returned; we heard that he was very sick in Tennessee & never afterwards heard from him & he was regarded as dead & so recognized by his own Father; who in dividing his estate gave his share to Defendant (sp?)."

 Another family legend has that John had left the family and they were told that everyone thought he went to Texas, remarried, and had another family there.

 I am looking for records for John Eberhart who
 married Cynthia Morgan. I believe his parents
 were Jacob Eberhart and Matilda Simmons but
 I find conflicting information linking Jacob
 with Margaret Woods. Can you give me any additional
 information? Also, when and where did he die?
