  Miller, Thomas - Enlisted as a private in Co. G, 4th Regt. Ga. State Troops Oct. 25, 1861. Mustered out at Savannah, Ga. Apr.1862. Enlisted as a private in Co. K, 56th Regt. Ga. Inf. May 12, 1862. Captured at Vicksburg, Miss. July 4, 1863, and paroled there July 8, 1863. Pension records show he contracted rheumatism in Kentucky in fall of 1863. Left command on furlough Mar. 1, 1865. At home in Heard County, Ga. close of war. (Born in Ga. Feb. 4, 1842.)
