Note: Clipping from Unnamed / Undated Newspaper Joe Joyner Suicides Thursday Mr. Joe Joyner, who had been with the Southern Railway painting crew, came home about 30 days ago on a vacation and to rest, committed suicide Thursday afternoon, about two o'clock, by shooting himself in the back of his head behind the right ear. To do this deed, Mr. Joyner pulled off his right shoe and sox -- and it is supposed he used his toe to pull the trigger of the gun. No cause is known except that he was mentally unbalanced. His actions was different on this visit than previous, still his family was shocked at him killing himself. An inquest was held by the coroner and the verdict of the jury that he met his death by his own hands with the suicidal intent. - - - From: rckr@@bellsouth.net To: VCJFreeman@@aol.com Sent: 4/22/2011 6:35:42 P.M. I know where the library is in Carrollton, so I will have to go there. - - - * From: rckr@@bellsouth.net To: VCJFreeman@@aol.com Sent: 4/18/2011 5:06:06 P.M. Pacific Daylight Time Subj: curious I know I have other things to do, but I am so curious that I am digging through my box. I found a note that Nancy Jane Eberhart Joyner, Joe Joyner, and Dora Joyner are buried at Concord Cemetary which is located basically on the line between Carroll and Paulding counties. This is one of the cemetaries that we visited the other day with Bobbie and Dixie. Bobbie remembers her mother telling her that Joyners were buried there, but there were no markers. Elaine and I remember going to that cemetary before when we were going everywhere, but neither one of us remember going to any cemetary that did not have markers. On another note, I see that Nancy Jane Eberhart Joyner died in Morrow, Clayton County, GA, but I have no date of death or place of burial and for some reason I think I got that information from you. Does any of this sound familiar? Bobbie also showed us an area in northern Carroll County that was the W H Joyner homeplace and it would make sense that they were buried at that cemetary since it is not that far away. Also, that is suppose to be the property where Joe killed himself. I have found my negatives of the pictures from South GA, so I will get them reprinted since I think I see Vassie's marker. I will let you know ASAP. Love ya'll Carla
