If you would like more information on her father Isaac I would be glad to share. Joy * Subject: Re: Cates / Reeves Genealogy Date: 12/20/2007 1:12:54 P.M. Pacific Standard Time From: rporterpapa@@comcast.net To: VCJFreeman@@aol.com I received the below information in an e-mail. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I found mention of an "Isac REEVES" on pg 110 of "First Families of Henry County, Georgia" under the CATES family. It states that Sanders CATES (1819-1896) married Lucinda E. REEVES (1822-1892), daughter of Isac REEVES, in Henry Co 2-27-1840. It also list the children of the CATES'. Hope this helps. Have you been into genealogy for very long? I just looked on your find a grave file and you have been on that since 2008. Anyway I am sending you a copy of the file for information on Lucinda father being Isaac Newton Reeves I know that Lucinda's mother was his first wife just not sure on the mother as he did not marry Caroline Victoria Brock until after he had at least 9 children by his wife. I think her last name might be Farmer as Isaac went to court on January 1, 1838 as a representative for a Farmer Wife. Which that would make Lucinda' mother last name Farmer, I have been in touch with a Farmer researcher on this matter and she agrees but cannot connect the dots also...... I know for sure that Caroline Victoria Brock was his 2nd wife's name because back in about 1985 I visited some of the family and wrote some of the family when my mother past away and two different people on different side sent me the same name of Caroline Victoria Brock but could not remember or did not know his first wife name. Of all the family I have researched the Reeves family has been the hardest for me. Not only dealing with the 1830, 1840 census of only the head of house hold names, but also on 1860 the census taker only used initials for the first name,,ugh!! Not to mention the different ways the name Reaves was spelled......... I am sure you already know that on the 1840 census that Lucinda and her husband R.S. Cates are living next door to Isaac and Caroline. Caroline was an invasive sort every census record her age was off from 2 to 5 years. I think she is buried in the New Hope Baptist Church Cemetery Acworth (North) Bartow County Georgia, USA under the name Ann. Lucinda's half brother's Alonzo, Pinkney, Joseph "Joe" and Warren Bird are buried there. Again nice talking to you joy
