I understand them, but just cannot go to the library now to locate them. The first listing indicates that the land is located 20times 6 miles south and 13 times 6 miles east of a point that is located near Huntsville. The St. Stephen one is measured and listed from a point in southern Alabama that is west of where Al-Fla. line extends and about where the Alabama River crosses that line. * Subject: Re: Freeman Cemetery??? Randolph Co., Alabama ?? Date: 6/27/2006 2:09:33 P.M. Pacific Daylight Time From: MMGir To: VCJFreeman Valerie, In reading some of the Freeman family histories in "The Heritage of Randolph Co, AL" I found a mention of a burial in the Freeman family cemetery near Omaha. If you have a Heritage book, pg. 127 in article for Hugh Freeman / Nancy_____________. Happy 4th, Marilyn * Subject: Re: Freeman Cemetery??? Randolph Co., Alabama ?? Date: 6/28/2006 9:04:52 P.M. Pacific Daylight Time From: tjfreeman@@netserver.nti.net To: VCJFreeman@@aol.com Good to hear from you. The Freeman cemetery is reportedly fairly near the Big Springs Church Cemetery. I have never been to it, but I understand it is in the woods or a pasture about a mile northwest of Big Springs and about the same distance southwest of Omaha. It is on land that did belong to Hugh Freeman. There are no tombstones to identify who is buried there, though it is very likely that Hugh and his immediate family members were buried there. I have heard that there has been some vandalism to the graves, supposedly by people who thought that some valuables may have been buried with Hugh--not likely. It is possible that Eli and his wife are also buried there, as I have not found a more likely place for their burial. I do not think any members of the family have been buried there in recent years as they are now being buried at Big Springs, Potash, Napoleon, or Highway cemeteries. T. J. Freeman
