Surnames: Gentry, Knop Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/Bd.2ADE/545.1.1 Message Board Post: Valarie, thanks for the info but my John P. Knop was born abt 1785 in Anderson County, SC. His daughter (am looking for proof) Martha was born abt 1816. She married Elisha Gentry. I was trying to see if I could find a birth certificate (1855) for their son, Elisha Thomas Gentry, who was my ggrfather. As I said, I'm also looking for 'proof' that Martha was John P's daughter although from what I've found, I'm sure she was. She had a sister, Eliza (or Elizabeth?) who also moved to GA, and, I think, a brother, Phillip. Thanks anyway. . . . maybe your James F. Knopp's father was John P. Knop... in SC? Maybe James was another brother of Martha? Jackie Ford
