 Mr G W Denny who receives the MBE is the son of Mr and Mrs S W Denny of Harleston. On leaving Bungay Grammar School he joined the staff of Whitehall Petroleum Corporation and after holding various appointmens with the Arthur Pearson trust, he was transferred to the Spartan Airways for the amalgamation which formed British Airways Limited. In 1942 he began his first foreign tour with an appointment at Durban, South Africa, and then he was at Lagos as Marine Superintendent for 2� years. From there he went to Karachi, Calcutta, Rangoon, Bangkok and then back to Rangoon, opening the two last-named stations immediately after the evacuation of the Japanese. He is now Station Manager, Rangoon and Regional Representative for Burma.
