Both of us have wanted to get into research but for one reason and another we havent so far. I promised her recently that I would get busy and do something and I have made a couple of feeble attempts to find things on several websites. It always seems confusing to me, but I was impressed by what you had found out about Aquilla and his children. If I read a notebook correctly that was kept by my grandfather, Rufus Wesley Hardy, his grandparents were related in the same way your husbands were. They were William Christopher and Susan Bailey on his mothers side (Lenora A.), and Rufus Wesley Hardy and he just has ____Bailey, but I see by your info that it was Lucy Mariah on his fathers. Have you found out anything more on Jesse Hardy? I somehow thought that the Hardys would be back in England or wherever they came from by the mid-1700s, but apparently not. Im afraid I dont have anything to give to you, but would appreciate it if you have traced the Hardys any farther back. I noticed that it is spelled Hardey in a couple of places, but I suppose alternate spellings are considered in searches. Thanks for the research that helped us! Lanice Clark * Subject: Aquilla Hardy descendent Date: 5/31/04 12:35:29 PM Pacific Daylight Time From: secret45garden@@hotmail.com Valerie, It has been a few years since we communicated regarding the Hardy family history. My daughter and I will be in Huntsville, AL for a distant family reunion on my father's side and I would like to visit the Senoia Cemetery where so many Hardy descendents are buried. I have the e-mail of the photo your mother-in-law took of Rufus W. Hardy's headstone there. Would you or she have any advice about driving around Georgia or finding and/or visiting Senoia Cemetery? We will be driving from Huntsville through Gadsden to Senoia, then flying out of Atlanta. This will take place during the last week of July...a warm time of year! I'm curious how you found the Hardy/Steward bible that you indicated is owned by Mrs. Frank A Finney of Gadsden, AL. How would I go about contacting her to perhaps visit her when my daughter andI drive through Gadsden? I'm am all excited again, trying to place each Hardy and their many descendents in an order I can comprehend! Have you done any more research on the Hardys? I'm enlisting my sister to do more along our other lines as well. What fun! I hope all is well with you and your family.
