Mr. T. C. Hardy, the victim of the cowardly and brutal assault which resulted in his death, was one of Senoia's most popular and useful citizens, and the execution of a dozen such creatures as Feltman will not atone the loss which the community has sustained. The assassin is yet at large, but his period of liberty will be brief. Outraged law cannot afford to permit these human devils to go unwhipt of justice, and the culprit in this case is certain to fall into the toils sooner or later. When he does he should have short shrift at the hands of the courts, and be made to pay to extreme penalty for his dastardly crime. - - - TURIN News Our community was greatly shocked upon learning the news of the tragic death of Mr. T. C. Hardy in Senoia on Saturday last. The affair was most shocking and brutal, and is deeply deplored by every one -- especially in this community, where he was born and reared, and where he spent most of his life. These are indeed dreadful times. Each day furnishes some appalling tragedy, and crimes and vice seem to be rampant throughout the civilized world. Good and useful men are shot down like dogs by worthless vagabonds, and no one is safe from assault and death. Mr. Hardy was fearless in the discharge of duty, and faithful to every trust reposed in him. He was endeavoring to subdue a turbulent character when he met his death, and died a martyr to duty. Our people deeply sympathize with the stricken family in their sorrow and distress. A father and three sons have been taken away within a few short years, leaving a wife and mother in deepest gloom and desolation." * "The Herald & Advertiser" Newnan, Coweta Co., Georgia NEWSPAPER Issue of Friday, April 9, 1909 TURIN News It is reported that John Feltman who murdered Tobe Hardy at Senoia several years ago, and was sentenced to the penitentiary for life, has been paroled by the Prison Commission with the approval of Gov. Smith. It is understood that Luke Hall who is likewise serving a life sentence for murder, will soon be out on parole also.
