W. Lamar and wife returned from Dooly county yesterday. They were called last week to the bedside of Mr. F. Nichols (sic - s/b H. Nichols), Mrs. Lamar's father, who had been taken seriously ill with a complaint which resulted in his death on Friday [March 14]. The remains were interred on Saturday. Mr. Nichols was a gentleman of many estimable qualities, and about 60 years of age. He was at the time of his death the owner of a fine plantation. He leaves but two children, a son and Mrs. C. W.
