 Ben married [1st] Bessis [Herndon] and his brother Jim married Amanda "Fannie" Frances [Herndon], Bessie's sister. Bessie and Fannie were the daughters of Joel Herndon and Nancy Kempson. The two couples moved to an area near Chestlehurst in Fayette County and worked together farming, saw milling, etc., sawing logs to build both of their houses.
 Bessie died and Ben married [2nd] Lucy Amy Nixon. At this time, the two families moved to the area near Digby and lived the rest of their lives.
 Benjamin died of appendicitis on July 4, 1903. *
