Magdalene Nixon
(LAGRANGE, Ga.) Magdalene Nixon, 78, of LaGrange, Ga., died Wednesday, Feb. 18, 2004,
at West Georgia Medical Center in LaGrange.
Funeral services were Saturday, Feb. 21, at 2 p.m. at McCarthy Funeral Home with the
Revs. Jackie Taylor and Steve Murphy officiating. Burial followed in Reed's Chapel Baptist
Church Cemetery.
Mrs. Nixon is survived by her husband, Jay Nixon Jr. of LaGrange; two daughters, Sheila
Faught of West Point, Ga., and Lana Joy Clary of LaGrange; one son, Noel Hand of West Point;
seven grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Born Nov. 15, 1925, in Randolph County, Mrs. Nixon was a member of Standing Rock Assembly
of God. She was the daughter of the late Carrie Stewart and Charlie Vaughn.
Arrangements were by McCarthy Funeral Home, West Point.
