Note: Samual John Base wed to Maria Hick,daug of william & Jane Hicks
Samual base was employed by the foreign Office ,as a verbal messanger,especially to Lord Palmerston,work which he seemed to do in between his post office work, --he was appointed to being postmaster of norwich, which he held from 1848-1870, when he retired he was a J P, magistrate bungay petty sessional division, sitting at Bungay, but mainly at Beccles,
Ringsfield hall has become a charitable trust home ,where there is a portrait of him, which was unveiled, by Leonard Base- he died a very wealthy man , this information was given to me by another base researcher "Paddy reynolds,"of Gt Yarmouth Norfolk England
