Note: nklin County, Missouri, with his brother Franz in October, 1849. In 1855, Julius, his father, and several of his sisters moved to Hermannsburg, Arkansas, where he is listed on the 1860 census as a miller with $1000 worth of real estate and $400 worth of personal property. Julius Wilhelmi purchased 40 acres of land in Washington County, Arkansas, on Feb. 1, 1860, Township 14 North, Range 33 West, Section 20, SE SE; and another 39.9 acres on Oct 1, 1860, same Township and Range, Section 29 NE NE. Julius filed papers for naturalization in 1860 in Arkansas. Shortly after the death of his first wife in August, 1863, Julius and his family moved back to Franklin County , Missouri, settling in Washington. During the Civil War, Julius served as adjutant in the 54th Enrolled Missouri Militia from Washington, Missouri, March 21, 1864, to March 12, 1865. Julius served as Sheriff of Franklin County from fall of 1864 to 1868. By the time of the 1870 census, Julius was living in Washington, occupation: Wood Ware Factory, real estate $18,000, personal property $1000. The birth records of his children give his occuation as "sheriff" and "engineer." Julius died of typhoid pneumonia.
