  This is probably the family listed on the ship St. Nicolas which left from Havre, France, and arrived in New York on 19 April 1851.
 The birthplaces of John and Frederika's children indicate that the family settled briefly in Ohio about 1851-2, were in Indiana by 1854, returning to Ohio by 1857. John "Freshley" and family are listed in the 1860 census in Spencer Township, Hamilton County, Ohio; John was a gardner, 0 real estate, $100 worth of personal property. In 1866 the family moved to Lafayette County, Missouri, settling near Higginsville. In the 1870 census John Froschle and family are listed in Davis Township, Lafayette County, Missouri, Post Office Concordia. In his will John "Froschle" left everything to his wife, to be divided equally between his children or their heirs at her death.
