Alice Phillips
MARCOLA - Visitation will be held Sept. 9 for Alice Moliece Phillips of Marcola, who died Sept. 6 of lung cancer at age 81.
She was born May 29, 1921, in Eugene to Clarence and Jessie Rathbun Cox. She married Lloyd L. Phillips in Eugene on June 24, 1939. He died in 1969.
She was a lifetime resident of the area and graduated from Triangle Lake High School. She worked as a secretary at a financial office. Her interests included genealogy and sewing. She was a member of the Royal Neighbors, Independent Order of Foresters and the Eugene Business and Professional Women's Club.
Survivors include her brother, Merle Cox of Cheshire; four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Her daughter, Marceil Lane, died in 1998. A grandson, Jeremy Lane, died in 1990.
Monday's visitation will be held from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Major Family Funeral Home. The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, also at the funeral home. Private burial is planned at Sunset Hills Memorial Park.
